Insurance and Self-Pay Options
At Summit Mind Psychiatry, PLLC, we strive to make accessing mental health care as simple and transparent as possible. Billing is handled through one of two pathways, depending on your insurance plan.
Headway Billing
For most commercial insurance plans, billing and claims processing are completed securely through Headway. Depending on your individual eligibility and provider credentialing status, Headway currently supports many major insurance networks in Washington, including:
- Aetna
- Carelon Behavioral Health
- Cigna
- Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey
- Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania
- Regence BlueShield of Washington
Insurance coverage varies by individual plan, employer, and network. Benefits and eligibility will be verified before your first appointment whenever possible.
Cash Pay & Superbills
Summit Mind Psychiatry offers a self-pay option for patients who do not have insurance, whose insurance is not accepted by our practice, or who choose not to use their insurance for services.
Self-Pay Rates
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation — $225
Follow-Up Appointment — $150
These rates apply to services paid directly by the patient without submitting a claim to an insurance plan.
Superbills & Out-of-Network Benefits
For eligible self-pay services, a superbill may be provided upon request. A superbill is an itemized statement that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Payment is due directly to Summit Mind Psychiatry at the self-pay rate. Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Your insurance company determines whether out-of-network benefits are available, whether the service is covered, and how much, if any, will be reimbursed.
Good Faith Estimates
If you do not have health insurance or choose not to use your insurance to pay for your care, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care. You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service or at any time before receiving care. When applicable, Summit Mind Psychiatry will provide a Good Faith Estimate in accordance with federal law. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
